Roberts - Opal

Opal Roberts, aged 9 years 7 months 28 days, oldest daughter of Hull and Rosa Roberts, died at their home, south of town at 7 p.m. Saturday. She had been very ill with rheumatism, which was followed by lung trouble. In life she was a cheerful playmate and industrious scholar. She had many young friends and was loved by all. The short life she lived here was all that could be wished and when she realized that the end was near, she requested her mother to hold her in her arms that she might pray. The funeral services were held here at the ME Church at 11 a.m. The remains were interred at the IOOF cemetery attended by many friends and relatives. The bereaved ones have the deep sympathy of all. - kbz
